Goblin Shark With Extending Jaws Coloring Page

A snarling shark bursts through a ruled circle into ornate corner flourishes, rendered in dense hatching from snout to tail.

This is the darkest sheet in the set and the most heavily worked. The animal lunges forward out of a thin ruled circle, breaking past it on three sides, and its skin is built from close hatching that follows every contour. The jaws are open on long unevenly spaced teeth, and the throat behind them is packed with strokes so tight it reads almost solid.

That density is drawn, not filled. Under magnification the throat is still separate lines with white paper between them, which means a pen or a sharp pencil can work into it. A marker will simply flood it.

Four corner ornaments of flowers and curling scrollwork frame the circle, and a small lozenge motif sits centered on the top and bottom edges. The ornament is fine and open, the exact opposite of the shark, and that contrast is what holds the composition together.

Given how much of the animal is already dark, light colors do more here than strong ones. A pale wash over the hatched flank lets the strokes stay visible, where a heavy hand will lose them.

This one suits an experienced colorist with time to spend on it.
