There are two bows on this puppy rather than one. A large bow is tied on top of the head between the ears and a second, even bigger one sits at the neck like a collar, and between them they take up nearly as much of the sheet as the dog does. Both are drawn with a clear knot and four loose tails, so each has about six separate panels to fill. The puppy underneath sits square on with its front paws together, one ear folded over, long lashes above each eye and a small open mouth. No background, no ground line, nothing else to think about. That makes it a good first coloring page for a three or four year old, and equally good for anyone who wants to spend the whole session on the bows and leave the dog plain. Match the two bows or deliberately clash them, since both look fine. If you want the dog itself to notice, go blue. Dogs see blues and yellows clearly but cannot tell red from green, so a red ribbon reads to us and not to them.
