A pot bellied pig has lain down under a tree and gone still. You see it from the side, facing left, with its belly hanging low against the ground and its legs folded underneath. The tree rises at the left of the page and its crown spreads right across the top, so the animal sits in what is clearly shade.
The breed is drawn accurately. A pot bellied pig has a deep sagging belly and a short straight back, quite different from the round barrel shape of the other pigs in this collection, and that difference is visible here at a glance.
The tree is built from a trunk with long bark lines and a canopy made of many small separate leaf clusters. Those clusters are the fiddly part of the page and the reason this sheet suits an older child. Working across them with two or three greens, rather than one, keeps the canopy from flattening out.
The pig itself needs almost nothing. One warm shade over the body, something deeper along the underside of the belly to show the weight of it, and the ears and snout picked out. The line weight here is lighter than on the bolder sheets, so colored pencils suit it better than thick markers.
