This piglet has sat down and has no plans to move. You see it from the side, facing right, with its weight settled back on its hindquarters and one front trotter planted on the ground in front of it.

The body is one big open pear shape. There is almost nothing inside it, which is the point: a child with one crayon can fill the whole animal and still have a finished page. One ear flops forward over the brow, the snout is a plain disc with two small nostril ovals, and a single round eye sits above a short smiling mouth. The tail spirals away behind in one loose curl.

Start with the body, because it is the largest open area on the sheet and it sets the tone for everything else. Pink is the obvious choice and it works, but a piglet in pale gray or sandy brown looks just as real, and the empty background means nothing competes with whatever you pick.

The ear, the snout and the trotter are the three small shapes worth taking a shade darker than the body. That one decision is what stops the drawing reading as a flat silhouette. Younger children can skip it entirely and the page still looks right.
