Three penguins stand pressed shoulder to shoulder near the middle of this page. The tallest is at the back on the right, tipped slightly toward the others, with a curved flipper hanging down its far side. A second adult leans in from the left, and a small chick stands in front between them with its flippers tucked against its body.

Each bird carries the same simple markings. A rounded panel comes down over the forehead and meets in a soft point above the beak, the beak itself is a short wedge with one line through it, and the eye is a single dot. Their feet meet along one shallow ground line at the bottom, drawn as small fans of toes.

The group sits small on the paper, with a broad band of open white above it and more below. Nothing else appears on the sheet, so the Antarctic setting in the title is left to the colorist rather than drawn in. That is worth knowing before starting, because it means there is plenty of room to add ice, a low horizon or falling snow around a trio that only takes a few minutes to fill in on its own.
