Emperor Penguin Colony With Chicks On Feet Coloring Page

A whole colony of penguins fills this page. Two tall adults stand out at the front and center, and behind them a dense crowd of more adults recedes to both sides, drawn smaller and smaller until they run out at the border. Each one has the same markings: a solid dark hood over the head, a long tapering beak, and a pale front panel shaded at the edges with fine parallel strokes.

Across the bottom stand five chicks, and they are the easiest shapes on the sheet. Each is a plain round body with a soft ragged outline, a small pale face, two dot eyes and a short beak, and they are spaced out with clear paper between them.

Behind the whole group the sky is worked into a mass of tight scrolls and curling cloud forms, with a patterned disc low in the middle. A deep ornamental border of vines, leaves and symmetrical crests wraps all four sides.

The title has the chicks standing on the adults' feet; here they stand on the ice in front, which is easier to color and easier to tell apart.
