A panda takes up nearly the whole sheet, drawn close enough that the bottom of its body runs off the page. It holds a length of bamboo in both front paws and has brought it up to an open, grinning mouth with the tongue showing. The eye patches are big soft teardrops with a bright highlight left in each, the nose is a solid rounded shape, and the body below is clean white with a single curved line marking the belly. Bamboo canes rise at both edges with pointed leaves springing off them.
One thing to know before printing: the inside of each ear is solid black, with only a thin white crescent left along the rim. Everything else is open outline.
The shapes here are as large as they get in this collection. A two or three year old can fill the body in one sweep, and the bamboo at the sides gives an older child somewhere to be neater.
A giant panda spends twelve to sixteen hours a day eating, and it has to, because it still has a bear's digestive system and gets very little out of a diet of grass. The wrist bone that works as a sixth digit for gripping a cane is the one real adaptation it has made.
