Owl Sitting On Branch With Full Moon Behind It Coloring Page

A huge moon disc sits behind the bird and reaches almost the full width of the sheet, its surface broken by long looping cloud lines and small scattered craters. The owl in front is worked in close detail: a patterned crown between two raised tufts, fine radiating lines across the face, and rows of tight scallops running down the breast and along the folded wing to a set of long barred tail feathers. It grips a heavy gnarled branch that crosses the bottom of the page, drawn with deep bark splits and small leaf sprigs at each end. Around all of it runs a light decorative border, leaves and dot clusters along the sides with a small diamond motif centerd top and bottom. The moon is what makes the coloring decision here. Leave it white and the owl has to carry the page alone. Fill it with a pale yellow or a soft gray and the whole silhouette lifts. A third option, and the most striking, is to work the sky around the moon dark and leave the disc itself untouched, which is closer to how a real bird looks against a bright night sky.
