Tiny Fluffy Baby Owlet Coloring Page

A single fluffy chick with oversized eyes and a ragged down outline, sitting on a bare twig with white space all around it.

Everything about this chick is soft. Its outline is deliberately ragged, a run of small bumps and points instead of a smooth curve, which is how the artist has drawn down rather than proper feathers. Two enormous eyes with solid black centers take up most of the face, set close on either side of a tiny triangular beak, and two little tufts stick up off the crown at slightly different angles. Short flick marks scatter across the belly with no strict rows, and stubby wings tuck in at the sides. A thin bare twig runs across the lower part of the sheet, and two feet with three visible toes each grip it. Nothing else is on the page. That emptiness is worth using: this is a good sheet for a child who wants to draw their own background, and there is room for a moon, a nest, or a whole night sky without touching the bird. Owlets stay covered in this white down for weeks before their real feathers come through, and during that time they cannot fly at all, which is why so many are found on the ground looking lost when in fact their parents are watching from above.
