Pride Of Lions Resting Together At Sunset Coloring Page

Two lions lie shoulder to shoulder across the middle of this page, both looking straight out at you. The male on the left carries a long mane drawn as dozens of flowing strokes that sweep down past his chest. The lioness beside him wears a shorter ruff built from finer and more broken marks, and her ears sit high and open. Behind the pair a large sun disc climbs into the upper half of the sheet, with a plain horizon line running off to either side of it.

The foreground is a deep band of grass. Blades cross and lean every way at once, and among them stand round seed heads and small open wildflowers on thin stems. Both animals push their forepaws forward into that band with the toes spread, so they sit down in the field rather than on top of it.

A border runs around all four edges, built only from leaves, curling stems and five petaled flowers, with a larger bloom anchoring each corner.

Color the sun first and keep it light, because it has to stay behind the lions. The two manes reward different handling: long even strokes for the male, short broken ones for the lioness. Leave a share of the grass blades white or the whole band will close up.
