The sun here is a single enormous circle rising from behind the grass, and the horse stands square in front of it with its head turned back toward you. Rather than being left plain, the whole animal is filled with ornament. Swirls curl across the shoulder and barrel, teardrop paisleys run down the legs, and small round rosettes and fans of petals are tucked into the spaces between.
Clouds float on either side of the sun, drawn as simple stacked outlines with flat undersides. The mane lifts and sweeps to one side in long layered locks, while the tail drops straight and heavy, ruled with fine parallel lines.
Across the bottom runs a thick band of grass with fine blades, small five petal flowers among it, and a few butterflies rising out of the top. Four ornate flourishes hold the corners, each built from curling vines and a pair of rounded eyes like the markings on a peacock feather. A small circled dot sits against each side at the halfway point.
The pattern inside the horse is finer than anything else on the sheet, so fine tipped pens or sharpened pencils will get much further with it than crayon will.
