A horse has reached right over the top rail of a fence, and a child stands on the other side with one arm up and the palm held flat and open beneath its muzzle. The two are about to meet, and the whole page is built around that small gap between a nose and a hand.

The horse takes the left half. Its head and neck are drawn large, with a long forelock and mane falling across one side, an oval eye with a fringe of lashes, and two dots for nostrils.

The child is shown entirely from behind. You see a round head with short hair, a bow tied at the back of the collar, a plain top and shorts, and a striped cuff on the raised sleeve. No face at all, which leaves it open for whoever is coloring to decide who this is.

The fence runs across the lower half: a squared post at one end and three long rails reaching away to the other, with a few short grain marks scored into the wood.

Large areas, thick outlines and almost no interior detail make this one of the friendliest sheets in the group for a young child.
