The moment caught here is the very top of the jump. Both front legs are tucked up tight with the knees folded, so the forearms lie almost flat above the highest rail. The chest is lifted, the back is rounded, and the hindquarters are still on the far side of the fence with two hind hooves showing low between the bottom bars.
The head is the part worth slowing down for. It is turned out of the scene toward you, which is an unusual choice for a jumping pose, and it carries a full bridle: a browband, a cheekpiece running down past the eye, and a noseband buckled around the muzzle. Short spikes of mane stand along the crest, and a saddle flap shows behind the shoulder.
The fence itself is three long rails set between two square posts, with a small clump of grass growing at the foot of each post. Nothing else is drawn, so roughly the top third of the sheet stays white.
Treat that emptiness as space you have been given rather than space left over. Some children fill it with sky, a crowd or numbers on the rails. Others leave it bare and let the horse float. Both read well.
