An elephant's face looks straight out from a thick ring of veined tropical leaves and five petal flowers, trunk hanging down the middle.

Only the head and trunk of this elephant appear. Everything below the chin is hidden behind a packed wreath of foliage, so the face reads as a portrait set into a living frame.
The ears open wide to either side and carry a few long fold lines each, which leaves most of their surface open. Two short tusks curve up beside a trunk that drops straight down the center of the page and disappears into the flowers at the bottom edge. Ringed creases run the length of that trunk and give you a ladder of narrow bands to work through.
Around all of it sit broad leaves with a central rib and paired veins, drawn at several angles so none of them repeat exactly. Five petal blossoms are tucked between them at six or seven points, each with a small round center and a scatter of stamens.
Outlines here are even and fairly heavy, and the shapes they enclose are large. That combination suits markers as well as pencils.
One approach worth trying: keep every leaf a different value of the same green rather than reaching for variety, and let the blossoms carry the only warm color on the sheet. The elephant then sits back as a soft neutral mass and the frame does the work.
