A ruled border boxes this whole scene in, and inside it the puddle does most of the structural work. It is drawn as a wide oval of concentric ripples that spread from where the feet break the surface, so the lines get further apart toward the rim.

The elephant stands slightly turned, near foreleg forward, trunk curling down and away to the left. Its skin is not left plain. Teardrops, spirals and paisley shapes cover the flank, the legs and the forehead, and the ears carry long ribbed folds that fan outward. A single tusk shows beside the trunk; the other sits behind it.

The border is where the page gets fussy. Scrolling stems climb all four sides, four big many petaled blooms anchor the corners, and small buds, berries and loose petals fill the gaps between them. Toward the bottom edge a scatter of separate petals and pebbles floats free of any stem.

Give yourself a plan before starting the hide, because those paisley cells are small and a single color across all of them flattens the animal. Two close values alternating cell to cell keeps the pattern legible. Water is easier: run one pale wash between the ripple lines and leave every third band white.
