Golden Retriever Puppy Playing With A Ball Coloring Page

A round shouldered puppy rests one front paw on a ball almost as tall as its chest, tail down, mouth open in a grin.

Not much competes with the puppy on this sheet, which makes it a good one for younger children. The dog stands with its weight shifted forward, one paw laid over the top of a large ball, the other planted on the ground. Its mouth is open and the tongue shows.

The outline is soft and slightly ragged all the way round, ruffled at the chest and along the backs of the ears to suggest a long coat without drawing individual hairs. Inside that outline there is very little to get in the way: a couple of lines for the leg joints, a curve for the chest ruff, and the eyes, nose and mouth.

The ball is divided by two curved seams into three panels, which is the only place on the page where coloring has to follow a plan. Three tones there will make it look like it is spinning.

Small clumps of grass mark the ground on either side and nothing else fills the background, so there is plenty of white left to add a garden, a fence or a sky if the page feels bare once the dog is finished.
