This is a whole museum hall, not just a skeleton. The mounted theropod stands center with its jaws open and its tail sweeping left, every rib and vertebra drawn separately, and behind it the room opens into arched galleries with a patterned ceiling, tall glass cases and a smaller skeleton posed on a plinth. Two birds stand on the polished floor at the front and large leaves push in from both bottom corners. The page rewards a plan. Color the bones a warm off white with only the shadowed sockets darkened, take the architecture down in cool grays, and the skeleton lifts off the background the way it does under gallery lighting. Fill the display cases with color instead and the whole thing turns into a flat decorative pattern, which is also a legitimate way to spend an hour. Fine liners suit this better than pencils, since there are a lot of enclosed shapes under a quarter inch across. Worth telling anyone working on it: mounts like this are almost always casts rather than real fossil bone. The originals are too heavy to hang and too valuable to drill holes through.
