This one is built like a tile. The butterfly lands dead center and perfectly mirrored, and behind it a carved ornament runs top to bottom: a tall fleur shape rising above the head, a matching one tapering below the abdomen, so the whole composition has a spine.

The wings do the heavy lifting in ink. Broad solid black fields wrap the outer edge of all four, each punched through with dozens of white ovals in graded sizes, large near the middle of the margin and small toward the corners. Inside the black the wing opens into long pale cells divided by strong veins. Two forewing cells carry a little zigzag line, the only irregular mark on an otherwise strict drawing.

The four corners hold sprays of fine flowers and leaves drawn at a much thinner weight than the insect. They stay deliberately quiet so the butterfly keeps its dominance.

Because so much of the wing arrives already black, this sheet resolves fast. You are filling the white islands, not the ink.

Two shades will carry it. Try warm tones in the cells and a single cool one in the corner sprays.
