Cartoon Axolotl With Big Eyes And Cute Expression Coloring Page

A round cartoon axolotl sits square in the center of this page, looking straight out with two oversized eyes and a smile that runs nearly the full width of its face. Leafy frills sweep up from each side of its head, its front feet meet neatly at the bottom, and a thick tail curves around from the left hip to finish just beneath them. The body itself carries no interior pattern at all.

Everything behind the animal is flowers. A dense bank of round blooms, buds and pointed leaves fills the upper third, and tall stems with spiral tendrils climb both side edges to close the frame. Smaller sprigs and leaves run along a ground line at the foot of the page.

The contrast between those two halves is the whole appeal here. The axolotl is one large blank shape and the border is dozens of tiny ones, so the animal can be finished in a minute and the flowers will hold your attention for as long as you want to give them. Try keeping the axolotl to a single pale tone and letting the blooms carry every strong color you own. The plain round flower centers are good places to repeat one accent shade, which pulls the border together without any planning ahead.
