Axolotl Floating Coloring Page

This axolotl is drawn head on and weightless, with both arms stretched out wide and the body tapering straight down into a long tail that curves away below. Nothing is standing on anything, which is what makes the pose read as drifting rather than sitting. The hands are open with four fingers each, and a soft line under the chin separates the head from the chest.
Six gill stalks rise from the sides of the head, three to each side, drawn as smooth rounded tubes rather than feathered frills. Two large eyes are filled dark with broad white highlights, short lashes sit above them, and the smile runs wide with a small mark at each corner.
This is the simplest sheet in the collection. The body carries no markings at all, the tail is one long unbroken shape, and there is nothing small anywhere on the page. That makes it the one to hand to a child who is still learning to stay inside a line, and the one to reach for when you want a finished page in five minutes. A pale pink body with deeper pink gill stalks is the familiar look. Drawing a flat blue background in around the outline would push the floating idea further, if the child wants more to do.
