An open umbrella dominates the upper half of this page, its canopy divided into roughly eight long panels by ribs that run from a small knob at the peak out to a scalloped lower edge. The dome is wide enough to shelter the whole figure beneath it. One of the axolotl's hands is raised below the canopy with a single finger extended toward the shaft, while the other rests against the chest.

The face is round and content, with highlighted eyes and a modest smile, and feathery gill clusters sit low on each side of the head. Seven round spots are scattered down the belly in a loose vertical line, and two short legs with splayed toes hold the figure up.

Umbrella panels are the best pattern opportunity on the whole axolotl hub. Alternating two colors around the dome gives you an instant circus canopy, or run a different shade in every panel for something louder. The belly spots want a tone that lifts off the body color, even just a deeper version of the same shade. Leave the paper white under the canopy and the umbrella still reads as shelter without any shading at all.
