Skull With a Coiled Snake Coloring Page

A long snake wraps this skull twice, over the top of the cranium and again beneath the jaw, with its head raised above the brow and its forked tongue flicking out to the side. The body is banded with diamond scales from end to end, each scale an open shape, and the tail curls back under the chin. Both eye sockets are drawn as deep openings rather than flat holes, with the thickness of the bone showing along the inner rim. The teeth sit in a tight even row. Snakes and skulls have shared tattoo flash for a century because the two shapes work against each other so well, one all curves and one all planes. Color the serpent and leave the bone pale and that tension does the work for you. The scales reward a second pass. Lay one flat shade over the whole body first, then go back and deepen every other diamond, and the snake gains a roundness that no amount of edge shading will give it. This sheet suits teenagers and adults.
