Two heavy horns curl into complete spirals on either side of this ram skull, each one banded with about twelve raised ridges that wrap from the base to the tip. Those ridges are growth rings. A ram adds one every year, which is how shepherds age an animal without checking its teeth, and they make this the most satisfying page here for anyone who likes a repeating pattern. The skull between them is narrow and clean, split down the middle by a single line, with deep eye sockets and a long nasal opening running toward the chin. Nothing crowds the composition and there is plenty of white paper around the horns. Work the rings in alternating shades and each horn turns into a rope. Work them in one color with the inner edge darkened and it stays stone. Both look good, but do not mix the two methods between the left horn and the right or the symmetry falls apart. This sheet suits teenagers and adults and takes about forty minutes.
