Longhorn Cow Skull With Desert Flowers Coloring Page

Two long horns sweep out across the whole width of this page, so wide that their tips carry past the edges of the paper and leave the skull sitting low and central. Underneath them the head is drawn as a narrow wedge with a strong line down the middle, deep eye hollows and a long tapered muzzle. A bank of open desert blooms is heaped across the bottom, more than half a dozen of them, each a ring of rounded petals around a stippled center, with pointed leaves pushing out at the sides. This is the southwestern look that turns up on every ranch wall from Texas to Arizona. The flowers do most of the work. Treat them as the brightest thing on the sheet and keep the bone pale and warm behind them, and the page gains the contrast the design is built on. Horns usually run darker at the tip than the base. Following that gives them length. Leave the paper around the horns alone, because empty space is what makes a spread like this read as wide.
