Both eye sockets are shaded with fine diagonal hatching rather than left blank, and a soft fan of feathery shapes spreads out behind the head. Scrolled corner pieces and a small diamond motif at the bottom finish the frame. Facets like these are built for flat blocks of color. Give neighboring triangles slightly different tones of the same shade and the crest will look genuinely three dimensional with no shading skill required at all. Metallic pencils or gel pens are worth using if you own them, since a hard edged facet is one of the few places they read properly. Note that the background paper has printed with a faint cream cast rather than pure white, which is worth knowing if you plan to scan the finished piece.
