The influence named in the title shows up in the flourishes rather than the skull. Curling acanthus leaves sweep up and out from the top of the head into a tall symmetrical plume, more scrollwork curls back down over both temples, and two ridged ornaments hang where the ears would sit. Corner pieces of the same curling foliage frame the sheet at the top and bottom, with a spearpoint pendant dropping below the chin. The skull between all this is heavily worked: sunburst rosettes fill both deep sockets, a shaded heart forms the nose, patterned bands run across both cheekbones, and a long row of even teeth sits inside a hatched surround that gives the mouth real depth. Baroque ornament was built on the idea that no surface should be left plain, and this page follows that rule closely enough that you will not find much white paper once you start. Gold and deep burgundy is the period palette and it suits the design. If you prefer something lighter, keep the plume in a single pale shade and vary only the skull, so the ornament frames the face instead of competing with it.
