The organizing idea is repetition with variation. A dozen or so paisley teardrops are heaped together around a lotus rosette at the middle of the page, and although the outline shape repeats again and again, the filling never does. One teardrop is stippled with dots, its neighbor carries rows of scallops, a third is crosshatched, a fourth holds a single tight spiral.

Large fans and long leaves push outward from the upper left and upper right, stretching the cluster along a diagonal. Beneath it sit two of the biggest shapes on the sheet: a broad spiral shell drawn as arc after dotted arc, and a round medallion of concentric dotted rings.

Four small daisies are placed one to a corner, each with a stippled center, and a handful of loose curls drift in the space between them.

This much dot work rewards a fine tip. Broad markers will bleed the dots together and you lose exactly what makes the sheet interesting, so pencils or thin liners are the right tool. A good discipline is to hold yourself to three or four colors across the whole cluster, letting the different fill patterns rather than the palette do the work of telling one paisley from the next.
