Winter Sleigh Ride Through A Snowy Forest Coloring Page

A horse pulls a sleigh along a track through deep woods, with two passengers wrapped under a blanket and a driver holding the reins. The artist has drawn the horse's harness strap by strap, added bells along the collar, and covered the surrounding firs with heavy snow that bends the branches down. Runner tracks trail away behind. The detail is high throughout, so this page suits adults and confident older teenagers.

The horse rewards care more than anything else here. Work the coat in short strokes following its direction, keep the muscles of the shoulder and hindquarter lighter in the middle and darker at the edges, and leave a bright highlight along the top of the back. The harness is your chance for a strong red or deep tan against all that snow.

Those bells on the harness were not decoration. A sleigh on snow runs almost silently, with no rattle of wheels to announce it, which made collisions a genuine hazard on shared roads. Bells were the practical answer, and in some places carrying them was actually required by law.
