Cat Sitting Beside A Pumpkin Coloring Page

This is the quietest sheet in the October set. A cat sits upright with its back to you, head turned so you catch its profile, tail curled around its paws. The drawing is deliberately spare: one long unbroken contour runs from the ears down the back to the tail, and no fur texture appears anywhere inside it. That makes the cat a single enormous shape you can treat as flat black, as tabby stripes of your own invention, or as a soft gray wash. Its eye and nose arrive already solid, and three whiskers curve out from the muzzle. To the right stands a pumpkin with a tall crooked stem and five rib lines, the only patterned object on the page. Because the two figures sit apart with clear white space between them, this print scans and reproduces well if you want it on a card or a party invitation. Older colorists tend to like this one more than children do. It rewards restraint, and two colors plus the white of the paper looks better here than a full box of crayons.
