A woven harvest horn lies on its side with its wide mouth open toward the front of the page, and out of it rolls a heap of plump round pumpkins, each one ribbed and topped with a short curling stem. The basket itself is the most detailed part of the drawing, built from rows of overlapping woven strips that curl up to a point at the tail end. Those woven strips reward patience. Filling them in alternating light and dark tones brings out the basketwork and makes the horn look genuinely plaited, though a single warm shade across the whole thing works perfectly well for anyone who would rather get to the fruit. The pumpkins in front are all clearly separate from one another, so they can each take a different tone without the pile turning muddy. It is a natural fit for Thanksgiving tables and harvest displays, and because the shapes sit low on the sheet there is open space above for a border or a written greeting.
