Slice Of Pumpkin Pie Coloring Page

A single wedge of pie sits on a round plate with a fork laid beside it. A swirl of cream curls up from the top of the slice. The filling and the pastry are separated by one clear line, and the back edge of the slice carries the scalloped rim you get when a pie crust is crimped by hand. Everything stays open and empty inside, so the page colors quickly. Dessert pages are popular for a reason. Children know exactly what this is and they have strong opinions about it. That means they start with confidence instead of asking what they are looking at. The filling takes any warm shade. The crust works in a paler tone so the two parts stay distinct. The cream swirl is best left white or barely tinted, which gives a young child permission to skip a section without feeling they missed something. The fork is a thin shape and suits an older child who wants a small careful piece of work. Print this before a family meal and let it sit at a child's place setting.
