Lantern Hanging From A Branch Coloring Page

A metal lantern hangs by its ring from a branch that reaches across the top of this page. The lantern has a domed cap, four upright corner posts, clear glass panels, and a square base. A plain candle stands inside with a single flame above it. The branch carries leaves along its length, and a few more drift below the lantern. The glass panels are the key to this page. They are left completely empty, with no reflection lines and nothing to work around, so a child can decide what the glass looks like. Leave the panels white and the lantern reads as clear. Tint them a warm shade and the whole drawing starts to glow from the inside. The flame is a small shape and suits a bright color that appears nowhere else on the sheet. Metal takes gray, black, or a deep bronze equally well. Lanterns come out as the evenings get shorter, which places this page squarely in the season. Print it and a child has something to color while the light goes outside.
