Hedgehog Carrying A Leaf Coloring Page

A small hedgehog trundles across this page with two broad leaves balanced on its back. Around twenty open triangles form the spines along its body, and each triangle waits empty for a color. The face stays simple. One round eye, one pointed snout, and a short mouth line. Nothing on the face needs careful work, which keeps the page friendly for small hands. The leaves resting on the spines each carry a central vein and plenty of room inside. Hedgehogs gather bedding in the weeks before they sleep through winter, and that is exactly what this one appears to be doing. It gives you something to talk about while the coloring happens. Ask a child where they think the hedgehog is taking its load. The spine triangles reward anyone who likes a pattern. Color them in two alternating tones and the back takes on real texture. Leave them white and the hedgehog reads as pale and soft instead. Both look good. The outlines are thick enough for markers, and the open belly gives a young child one large easy area to start with.
