Chipmunk With Full Cheeks Coloring Page

This chipmunk has stuffed both cheeks and is still holding a nut in its front paws. The puffed cheeks are the whole joke of the drawing and children spot it immediately. Its tail curves up behind its back with soft fur points along the edge, and two rounded ears sit high on its head. The body stays open and uncluttered so a crayon can move across it without stopping. Chipmunks carry food back to a burrow all through the cooler months, and the cheek pouches are how they do it. Mention that while a child colors and the page becomes a short nature lesson rather than just a cute animal. Stripes along the back give you an obvious place to add contrast. Keep them dark and the body light, or reverse it. The nut in its paws is small enough to finish in a few seconds, which means a young child gets an early win before tackling the larger areas. The outlines are thick and continuous throughout, so this page handles markers, crayons, and colored pencils equally well.
