Boy With A Leaf Rake Coloring Page

A boy stands in profile on this page holding a leaf rake, both hands closed around the handle. The rake head rests on the ground with its tines fanned out beside him. He wears a plain long sleeved top, plain trousers, and a pair of boots, and none of it carries a pattern or a logo. His face is kept to one eye, a small nose, and a short smiling mouth. Figures are harder to color than objects because clothing, skin, and hair all need different treatment, and children know that instinctively. This page keeps the job manageable. Every garment is one large open area, so there is no fiddly work anywhere on the figure. Pick a color for the top, another for the trousers, and the boy is most of the way done. The rake gives the page its season. Leaf raking is the one outdoor job that belongs to this time of year and nothing else. Print this page beside the leaf sheets in this collection and a child can color the job and the leaves together.
