Autumn Forest Path With Colorful Falling Leaves Coloring Page

Leaves tumbling through open sky above a quiet track, each drawn big enough to work on separately.

The upper half of this sheet is given over to open sky with a cluster of maple leaves turning through it on the way down. They are generously sized and spaced well apart, so each one becomes its own small project instead of vanishing into a mass. Below them a run of round headed trees fills the left, a bare branching tree holds the right, and a narrow track climbs the middle of the page between the two.

Try treating the airborne leaves differently from the wood underneath. Give the falling ones the warm end of the box, hold the trees in muted browns and tans, and the leaves lift clear of the background so the eye goes to them first.

Leaves do not simply drop. A maple leaf tumbles and slips sideways as it falls, shedding little curls of air off its edges the whole way down, and that is what carries it so far out from the trunk rather than landing in a neat ring at the foot of the tree.
