Seen from the side, this rover shows its whole working layout at once. Six deep treaded wheels carry a boxy body, and the body's long side panel is left completely blank, a clean rectangle that is the largest single area to fill on the page. A tall mast rises from the front deck and ends in a square camera housing with a lens on the front. A flat instrument tray extends forward on the left, and underneath the chassis you can pick out the rocker arms that let each wheel climb independently. The ground is the other half of the drawing. Dozens of angular rocks lie scattered across it at every size, from pebbles no bigger than a fingertip to boulders that reach the rover's axles, each one outlined and empty inside. A low ridge of hills runs across the background in a few unbroken lines. Nothing here is shaded, so the contrast between the machine's straight edges and the broken rock shapes is left entirely to whoever picks up the pencils.
