An eight pointed compass rose anchors the middle of this chart, and around it the field is dense with tiny stars, circles, dots and short chains of points joined into constellation figures. Two concentric rings enclose the star field, the outer one ticked like a dial, with small sunburst medallions and arrowheads set at the quarter points. Beyond the rings, each corner carries a spray of scrollwork, feathered arrows and layered flowers, and a narrow beaded band frames the whole square. This is one of the most detailed sheets in the space set and it is not aimed at small children. The reward for adults is that almost every mark is a closed shape, so the page holds up under a very slow, very controlled fill. Fine liners and 0.5 millimeter pencils both work. A useful approach is to pick two or three colors for the star field and let everything else stay dark, which makes the constellations jump forward the way they do on a real night chart. Metallic gel pens over a dark wash also suit it. Expect to spend a full evening on this one rather than twenty minutes.
