Three children are mid hop across a court of chalk rectangles marked on the ground. The boy on the left wears a collared shirt and shorts, one leg lifted high, a stub of chalk pinched in his fingers. The girl in the middle has both feet clear of the ground and holds a longer stick of chalk. The girl on the right hops in a ruffled skirt with one hand flung out for balance. All three wear sneakers. A loose spiral has been scribbled into one of the squares. Arching over the whole scene are large outlined flowers, curling stems and small swirls that fill the upper corners.
One thing to notice before you start: the squares are blank. Nobody numbered them, so the numbers are yours to add, which turns the sheet into a small writing exercise as well as a coloring one.
The floral arch is adult grade detail and sits oddly against the simple figures, so it is fine to leave it pale.
Hopscotch is played across most of the world under different names, and the court shape changes everywhere it goes. The numbering almost never does.
