Children Racing Around The Playground Coloring Page

Three children tear across the front of this scene from left to right, each one caught with a foot off the ground. The girl in the lead has long hair streaming out behind her and carries a flat paddle bat over one shoulder. The boy in the middle is the biggest of the three, arms pumping hard. A third child runs on the right with hair flying the same way. Behind them stands a play tower with a peaked roof, a railing and a straight slide, with a round topped tree on one side, a sapling on the other, and a low hill line crossing the back.

Short dashes in the grass stand in for speed, and those are worth leaving white. Filling them in kills the motion immediately.

There is a good deal of open ground at the bottom. A child who finishes early can run the hill line further or add their own figures chasing after the three in front.

If you want the runners to pop, keep the tower and the trees in muted tones. Illustrators push backgrounds toward gray or pale green for exactly this reason.
