Ice Cream Float In Tall Glass With Whipped Cream Coloring Page

The fizz inside this tall glass has been drawn as dozens of small roses and spirals instead of the usual round bubbles.

The clever part of this float is below the rim. Instead of plain bubbles, whoever drew it packed the glass with small roses, spirals and a few star shaped leaves, dense near the bottom and thinning out toward the surface where the syrup line crosses. A thick cap of whipped cream sits on top with a striped straw pushed through it at an angle, and the glass narrows into a stem and a wide foot.

Scattered around the paper are single cosmos flowers, drawn light and left unconnected to each other, which stops the background from competing with the drink.

Two strategies work. Treating the fizz as one mass in a single pale tone keeps the float looking like something you could drink, and the roses still show through as texture. Giving each small shape its own tone turns the glass into a mosaic and takes considerably longer, though it is the more striking of the two results.

Whichever you choose, leave the whipped cream alone. It is the only large area on the sheet that reads correctly when it stays white.
