Decorated Ice Cream Birthday Cake With Candles Coloring Page

The cake sits on a pedestal stand in the middle of the sheet, tall and round and drawn with an outline heavy enough to hold a thick crayon. Five straight candles stand in a row across the flat top, each one lit with a small teardrop flame that is left open so it can take a different color from the wax below it. Between the candles and the front edge runs a ring of six plain round sprinkles, spaced far enough apart that a young child can fill each one without crossing a line. The icing hangs over the top edge in a row of even scalloped waves, which gives the sheet its one repeating pattern and makes a good place to practice keeping a steady hand. Below that the whole side of the cake is deliberately empty. Nothing is written on it and nothing is drawn across it, so it is the largest open area on the page and it can become one flat color, a set of stripes or whatever a birthday calls for. The stand underneath is a short stem on a wide oval foot. Print it the week before a party and let the candle count stand in for the age.
