Of all the homes here this is the one children ask the most questions about. It is a proper little house, with a pitched roof, a chimney pipe and lap siding, except that it is bolted to a flat trailer riding on two round wheels, with a hitch bar reaching out at the back. The angle helps a lot. It is drawn from the corner rather than straight on, so you see the long blank side wall as well as the front, and that empty side panel is the largest uninterrupted area on the page. A round porthole window is set into the gable. The front carries a paneled door with two knobs, reached by a short box step, and a sash window with its own sill sits beside it. The horizontal siding lines run the length of both walls. Those siding lines are worth using rather than ignoring. Treat every other one as a stripe and the house gains texture without anyone having to draw anything extra. The wheels are the one place on the sheet where a dark shade pays off, because they anchor the whole thing and stop it floating. Everything else can stay light.
