Sleeping Beauty Asleep In A Castle

This is the calmest sheet in the fairy tale set, and the composition does most of that work. A bed sits square in the middle of the room with a round post rising at each corner, and a princess lies asleep across it with her eyes closed and her hands tucked beneath her cheek. A small pointed crown rests on her hair. The blanket drawn over her is a single large shape with only a couple of fold lines inside it, which makes it the easiest area on the page and a good place for a young child to begin. Behind the bed rises a tall arched window divided into panes by slim bars, and each pane is a separate rectangle waiting for a shade of its own. The walls to either side are left almost bare, with just a hint of a hanging at each edge. A small round table stands at the left of the bed and a rug spreads across the floor beneath it. Because so much of the room is empty, the sheet works well for a child who finds busy pages overwhelming. There is plenty to finish and very little to get lost in.
