A two tier cake rises from a wide plate in the middle of this page, and three small cartoon children are sitting along the top of it. The one in the middle wears a cone party hat, the one on the left has short spiked hair, and the one on the right wears a bow. All three are turned out toward you, smiling, with their legs hanging over the front edge.
Three tall candles stand among them, each one plain with a teardrop flame, and a row of rounded swirled shapes runs along the top of the cake like piped icing.
The cake itself is where the detail is. The upper tier carries a draped garland of scallops with hanging strings of tiny beads below it, and the lower tier is covered in a field of small flowers, spirals and curling stems. A band of round beads runs all the way around the base where it meets the plate.
Behind everything, large open daisies and feathered scrollwork fill both upper corners and spread down the sides, drawn in a much lighter line than the cake.
