Stack Of Books With A Shiny Apple On Top Coloring Page

Five closed books are piled one on another at the center of this sheet, each drawn with its page edges hatched in fine parallel strokes and a plain band wrapping the spine. The stack widens slightly toward the bottom, and the lowest volume runs almost the full width of the page. Balanced on the top cover is a single apple with a short stem, two pointed leaves and a pair of oval highlights on its cheek.

Flourishing scrollwork occupies all four corners, and two dense floral sprays sit against the base of the pile on either side.

Hatching on the page edges is already doing the shading for you, so leave those strips pale and save your strongest work for the covers. Five volumes means five chances to try something different without any of them touching awkwardly. Traditional red on the apple works, though a green one reads just as well against a dark pile.
