School Library With Students Reading Books Coloring Page

A library drawn in deep perspective, with shelves climbing every wall and five children reading among the long tables.

The room in this drawing recedes straight away from you, and the shelves follow it: three walls packed floor to ceiling with upright spines, each one ruled as its own narrow rectangle. A pendant lamp hangs from a decorated cornice above the center. Long tables run down both sides, and five children are scattered among them, one holding an open book up to her face, two leaning together over a shared page, and two more settled at the right.

Ornate floral columns rise along the left and right margins, and a tall pile of closed volumes sits in the very foreground with a pencil resting beside it.

All those book spines are the main event and the main decision. Filling every one individually takes a long while but gives a mosaic effect that is hard to beat. A faster route is to pick three tones and sweep them across whole shelves in bands, which still reads as a full library from across a room.
