Robot Painter Standing At A Canvas

The canvas on this page is empty on purpose. A robot stands beside a wooden easel with a paintbrush held up in one hand, the bristles almost touching the surface, and the whole rectangle in front of it is clean white paper. That is the invitation: the child coloring this sheet paints the picture the robot has not started yet.

The robot is drawn side on to the easel but turned enough toward the reader that both eyes show. Its head is a square with rounded corners, a tall antenna rising from the top with a ball on the end, two big round eyes with bright highlights, a side lens where an ear would sit and a thin slot for a mouth. The body is a tall rounded box with a single flap panel on the front. Its free arm hangs down at the left and ends in a two pronged claw.

The easel is simple carpentry: three legs, a shelf across the front and a support post behind, all drawn in clean straight lines. The robot wears a pair of oversized sneakers that sit flat on an invisible floor. Nothing else appears on the sheet, so there is nothing to compete with whatever gets painted on that canvas.
