Robot Building Blocks With Children

Two children are building a robot, or possibly the robot is helping them build something else. Either way the three of them are working together. The robot stands in the middle of the sheet, tall and boxy, with a square head, two ball tipped antennae and a face made of two wide eyes and a straight line mouth. Its chest carries a long panel above two rows of four circles, which look like buttons waiting to be pressed.

A child stands on each side, drawn at about shoulder height to the robot. Both are smiling up at it and both are holding a rectangular block toward its open claw hands. The children have short hair, simple round faces and plain shirts, shorts and shoes, so there is not much fussy detail to work around.

Behind them the playroom is sketched in light, uncluttered lines. There are shelves on the left holding what look like spare parts, a chest of drawers on the right, two empty picture frames on the wall and a low tray of blocks on the floor. More blocks sit under the robot's feet. The background is deliberately quiet, which means the three figures stay the focus and a child can decide how much of the room to fill in at all.
