Princess Sailing A Boat On An Enchanted Lake Coloring Page

A princess sits in a small wooden boat and works a single oar across a wide flat lake. The bow carries a carved animal head with a ribbon tied around its neck, and the hull is decorated with small rosettes and a hanging charm. The title says sailing and there is no sail anywhere. She is rowing, which makes more sense of the oar in her hands.

Those ripple lines are the thing to plan. Leave most of the water white and lay a single pale tone across only the lower third, and the lake reads as calm rather than as stripes.

Carved figureheads were not decoration to the people who fitted them. A ship with eyes at the bow could see where it was going, and sailors who would not sail without one were still working well into the nineteenth century.
